Qualitative Research Guide

Online and collection-based resources to aid in conducting, finding, using, synthesizing, and teaching qualitative research in the health sciences.

Qualitative Research Software

The Library now offers access to ATLAS.ti, qualitative data analysis software designed to help manage and analyze non-numerical data such as text, video, audio, and graphics. The program provides tools that let the user locate, code, and annotate findings in primary data material, to weigh and evaluate their importance, and to visualize complex relations between them.

UCSF students, faculty, and staff can use ATLAS.ti on the Windows computers in the Parnassus Library Tech Commons during library hours. UCSF students, faculty, clinical residents, and fellows can also access this software in Medical Sciences 165, which is open 24/7.
