Getting Started at UCSF Library: Book Collections

This guide will show you the things you need to know to make the most of UCSF Library, whether you are a student, resident, fellow, faculty or staff

Access Medicine

AccessMedicine is a bundled resource providing access to numerous reference books, an extensive multimedia library, a differential diagnosis tool, quick reference tools such as practice guidelines, diagnostic tests, and Quick Medical Dx & Rx, a collection of concise evidence-based outlines of conditions and disorders most often encountered in medical practice. The textbooks include those in the Lange series, such as CURRENT Medical Diagnosis & Treatment, and Harrison’s Principles of Internal Medicine. There are also downloadable images, an integrated drug database, a selection of cases from across the popular Case FilesTM series and Pathophysiology of Disease, patient education materials, and more.

Pharmacy Library

PharmacyLibrary features APhA's authoritative textbooks, PharmacotherapyFirst, interactive self-assessments, more than 250 Active Learning Exercises easily adaptable for a variety of educational settings, case studies, and information from a variety of news sources. Here is a list of the textbooks included.

LWW Health Library: Premium Pharmacy Collection

LWW Health Library: Pharmacy provides a collection of textbooks, videos, journal club, cases, clinical skills resources, guidelines, and more. Collections are organized with built-in filters to narrow your topic to a more specific category such as physical examination or pharmacy practice.

Using the Library's Global Search

The main search box on the Library home page searches across many of our databases all at once, including PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, and CINAHL. It also searches our online catalog, so you can find books, eBooks, book chapters, dissertations, news articles, and more. You can narrow to eBooks or other content types by selecting from the left menu bar. Find out more in our article on building better searches in global search.
