Getting Started at UCSF Library: Access the Library

Library Accounts

Borrower accounts are provided automatically. Log in with your MyAccess credentials.

For alumni and non-UCSF people, see more borrower account options

On/Off Campus

On campus connect to the library with the UCSFwpa network.

Off campus connect to the library using MyAccess (https://myaccess.ucsf.edu/).

  • When off campus, the EZproxy "bookmarklet" makes it easier to read full text articles provided by the UCSF Library. This is especially useful when searching Google, Google Scholar, or the public version of PubMed or when asked to pay for access to an article (i.e. hit a paywall). Visit this help article to learn more.

UC Library Search

The main search box on the Library home page is the library's online catalog. UC Library Search includes all ten UC Libraries' physical collections, ebook collections, and many databases including PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, CINAHL. From this one search box you can find books, eBooks, articles, book chapters, dissertations, news articles, and more.

Narrow to eBooks or other content types by selecting from the left menu filters. Find out more in our article on building better searches.
